Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar, is a Private Sector university well known in Pakistan and abroad. It was established by the Govt. of KPK through an Ordinance in 2001 and given due recognition by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, as the HEC places the SUIT amongst the category W-3 universities.
According to Research Rankings released by the Higher Education Commission in 2011, SUIT got 2nd position.
Sarhad University imparts quality education in various fields of learning, both through regular and distance learning modes, and has a good national and international reputation. The university is recognized / accredited by the relevant national regulatory/accreditation bodies of HEC such as , Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE).
